Purdue vs. Little Rock
In a game that was dominated by guard-play on both ends of the court, Purdue (26-9) was unable to close out a 14-point lead over Little Rock (30-4) in the closing minutes of the contest. After two overtimes, though, it was Little Rock that found the advantage over the Boilermakers and knocked Purdue out of the NCAA Tournament. Leading for Purdue was sophomore guard Vince Edwards, who recorded his first career double-double, scoring 24 points with 13 rebounds. In his final career game as a Purdue Boilermaker, senior center A.J. Hammons also recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points with 15 rebounds.
